Manoj is a practicing designer and educator trained in product & furniture design. Manoj’s practice is predominantly embedded in grass-root-level innovation and design development. He has done several rural livelihood development and design projects across the country, he predominantly worked with micro and small sector of the country. His area of work mostly inclined towards designing for Sustainability in-terms of materials, lifecycle of the product/furniture, and for the small/unorganised sector (craft sector).
Since 2014 he is associated with design pedagogy and education at Srishti Manipal Institute of Art Design and Technology, As an educator, he works with a combination of teaching philosophies and methods of design and making. He is very much keen and passionate about collaborative learning, where one can collaborate with other professional experts, share their expertise, exchange ideas to explore and solve complex issues.
He was key member of Exhibition curation, design and execution team of 5 nos. annual expo for the Srishti Institute, and 3 nos. Annual trade fair for IL&FS clusters(Tripura) his team designed all component of exhibition like furniture, display units, fixtures and they successfully implemented the project .

He was part of team for envisioning and developing M.Des. and B.Des. Industrial Arts and Design Practices(Product, Furniture, Textiles) course for Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology, he with his team develop all core learning objectives, course modules, Units, Capability sets, dimension of practices and studio habits for the courses.

Design consultation and capacity building in the handicraft sector, interalia, in the following areas: Structure and implement the followings Design development programs – Skill training programs(Content & Module development and management) - Organize and manage Mass mobilization camps for cluster development.
Production management/ supply chain management programs to service medium to large sized orders Operationalize the community production centers in handicraft clusters across Tripura, He established and managed design department to promote an ongoing program of new product development Coordinated with buyers to source business and handhold in the timely execution of orders Supported and provided design expertise for IL&FS Health, IL&FS Skills, IL&FS Education, and National Food Mission for IL&FS Clusters.

Moduals - Training - Facilitation
Design and skill is very important vector when it comes to facilitate and provide livelihood to a large portion of the population, Manoj has worked with many state Govt’s. And non Govt. agencies to design and develop curriculums for Design and skill training. He has designed and developed TOT modules for Handicraft and Incense sector, he used both regional and English as language to make these modules to make sure information transfers without very low loss. He has conducted many Design development and Skill transfer training for artisans across the country.
He has designed, facilitated and participated many trade fairs to get customer feedbacks and has helped Organization to won best design stall in trade fairs.

Manoj has expertise in life style product design and Indoor and outdoor Furniture design, he has worked with many Exporters, NGOs, Govt. agencies, Artisans and Design house.
His design philosophy inclined with basic need and necessity of the intervention, he takes sustainable approach to design and develop his design, keeping in mind capacity of local talent, available raw materials, marketing channel & product life cycle.
he had explored wide range of materials like Various Metals and techniques associated with them, Wood, Stone, Bamboo, Terracotta etc.

Agencies for Craft research and documentation, He managed and facilitated Interviews of artisan and local bodies, he helped to make blues print of data collection and analyzation of it to feed into documentation. he was part of documentation team of Crafts of Madhya Pradesh sponsored by Ministry of Textile Govt. of India,

Manoj hold four year specialization in Visual arts, he has worked with many companies and Educational Institutes for development of marketing & information strategy, and their Identity design that includes Company Logo design, Company color, Fonts, stationary etc.
